How did you choose the name for your betta?
Ryodan is a name from a book series I read called the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. In her books she has a group of very dominant, alpha men called “The Nine” who are basically really tough sons of guns. I choose Ryodan because he was my first Betta and Ryodan is the “leader” of the group. I have plans to eventually have nine, one for each, though some of the characters names haven’t been revealed yet.
Is there a story behind your betta – when were you first united?
I went to Petco to use a gift card my mom got me for my birthday. I originally was just going to get my dog and cats some new toys, but wasn’t really liking any of the choices and I had $50 dollars to spend. I ended up going to look at fish, and found Ryodan and fell in love immediately.
What makes your betta special to you?
Ryodan and my other fish, Lor, are special because they came with me from Texas to Virginia. I’ve only owned the two for roughly 8 months or so, but they are both my boys.
Is there anything else you would like to add about your betta?
Ryodan has a tank mate, a black Nerite Racer snail named Rowena – also from the book series.
